A Simple Time Management Technique
(Time-boxing)

Dear Readers,

Time Management is a very important part of Personal Development. We all understand the importance of time very well, but if seen practically, we also misuse it the most. I am not perfect in time management, but I have improved by using a simple time management technique. Today I will share this technique with you, which the world knows as TIMEBOXING. I first read about it on Steve Pavlina's blog.

This technique has been used in the software industry for a long time. For example: Suppose you had developed software to calculate income tax, and now due to changes in income tax rules, you have to upgrade this software. You have to prepare a new version of it by a specific date. Then perhaps you will use timeboxing for this task, which means that you will do the best you can in the time available. Which new features you will implement depends on the time you have. You do not have the option to miss the schedule, so if you are running behind schedule, you will have to cut some features. And make it the best you can give.

The timeboxing technique says that you have limited time, and you have to do your work simultaneously; you do not have a chance to become a perfectionist, give your best and tackle the job.

In the software industry, your boss decides the time limit, but you are the biggest boss in your own life and have to set the time limit for your various works.

I often use this technique - in the office and other works. As usual, I have to complete some vital positions in the office. Still, my mind is wandering somewhere else (generally in Achhi Khabar :)), in such a situation, five minutes of work takes fifty minutes. Then I order myself: I have to focus on this task and do nothing for the next fifteen minutes. And know for sure that the work of the next 15 minutes is better than the work of the last one hour.

Keep in mind that you do not give yourself too much time to complete any work. If I do 2 hours instead of 15 minutes in the above example, this work will become challenging. And possibly in a while, my mind will wander again. But my subconscious mind does not mind after fixing 15 minutes; it knows that it is only a matter of 15 minutes, after that we can have fun again even if you continue with your work after that.

You can use Timeboxing on many occasions. For example, you are stuck in some work and cannot make progress. Any assignment, like you, have to complete a project of your college, and you cannot move ahead in it to make it the best project in the world, then decide in the mind that I will do XYZ part of the project in the next 1 hour. I'll do it no matter what it looks like. You will be able to move forward.

Friends, we know somewhere that if we can do some work in 1 hour, even if we put 10 hours in it, that work will not be ten times better. Whether you keep one potato at a time or the shopkeeper weighs it at once, it will not make much difference; then Mr. It is not wise to be a Perfectionist. On the other hand, if you are looking for a house to live in, do as much research as you can; it will come in handy.

By the way, if you pay attention, you must have used timeboxing unknowingly before. Have to read it, and we used to complete it somehow. And the studies that were done then were better than the studies of the whole year. Why?

Now it is the turn to use this technique consciously. So next time you get stuck in some work, and you feel that you cannot make any remarkable progress even after giving time, then use Timeboxing technique and become Timeboxer.
